Peli 1745 Air case

Peli make some exceptionally tough cases and the 1745 Air Case certainly maintains those very high standards, offering a super-secure way of transporting firearms. Peli’s Air cases are around 40% lighter than their other ranges, but this weight reduction has not been achieved by compromising on strength or security.

The 1745 Air Case

The case is constructed of a very tough resin which stands up really well to impact. Six oversized press and pull latches ensure a proper watertight seal, and a secure closure, and four stainless steel padlock hasps facilitate proper security.

Internal dimensions are 1118 x 426 x 203mm. The width and depth make this a multigun case although the length is not suitable for longer rifles.

There are three large rubber over moulded handles, one at each end and one on the side, and wheels on the bottom to make it easier to move the case around. Stood on end the case is nice and stable, even when full of guns.

Light as air

The case weighs just 7.8kg, with the foam inserts adding 1.8kg, a few kg lighter than an equivalent case from the Protector range.

Despite this loss of weight, the case is surprisingly deep, at just over 200mm internally, which means that guns can be carried in the upright position as well as laid on their side. In the upright position this case will carry up to three unscoped guns, side by side, while still having plenty of padding between each one. The 1745 Air Case is ideal for anyone carrying several guns or for dealers who are transporting stock. There are four layers to the foam inserts, a flat base foam, two layers of Pick ‘n’ Pluck and a convoluted lid foam to ensure that the contents are securely held in place and protected.

There is no denying this is an expensive case, but considering it can hold thousands of pounds worth of guns, it represents a good investment.
