Beretta Zambezi High GTX Boots

Beretta Zambezi High GTX Boots

For a long time now, Beretta has had a selection of hunting boots in its clothing range, but the Zambezi High GTX are currently the only high-leg boot that they offer.

The upper cut Measuring 10.25” high at the front (excluding the wellpadded tongue) and 8.25” at the rear, they immediately display a well-considered upper configuration with side contouring, plus an orangecoloured inner mesh padded collar. The body is a mix of suede crust and Cordura Puma inserts that guarantee maximum durability.

The suede contributes a touch of contrast, and extra strength where the lace hasps are located, plus is also evident at key stress points on the body. Cordura is very prominent, especially on the upper section where it dominates to fully wrap around the boot. Here, the boot also has extra padding to further aid comfort and strength.

This all combines to protect the lower calf and shin while offering more support for the ankle over rocky terrain. It also keeps the lower leg dry as well as giving the wearer extra insulation.

Waterproof & climate control

story continues below...

The Gore-Tex Sierra more season membrane makes the boots ideal for hunting in inclement weather. The high-performance membrane is not only fully waterproof but also highly breathable. The upper might have a strange name (suede crust) but this also guarantees an exceptional level of control when it comes to the inner temperature of the boots. The Cordura inserts maximize strength and resistance.

Boots on the ground

The boots use the Vibram Bossolo sole, which is suited to a wide variety of terrain and guarantees optimum grip on wet and uneven ground. This is due to the deep-cut lug configuration and the heavy lug ridging applied under the toe (which has a slight toe rise) and heel.

The cleats are well-spaced making them very easy to clean. An interesting fact not often mentioned is that Vibram Soles are made from vulcanized rubber, which is a very good insulator.

The rand incorporates a toe guard and there’s extra strengthening given to the heel. This is seen rising from the sole to the body of the boot and it is double stitched over the rand. Also incorporated into the boot is an Ortholite 2D/5mm footbed that cushions the foot as you walk.

The speed lacing system consists of 4x pairs of articulating, captive D-rings, plus there are 5x pairs of open hasps. As well as a well-padded tongue, there is a rear loop pull that helps make the boots easy to put on and remove.

Conclusions

The Beretta Zambezi High GTX Boots tick all the right boxes. They are extremely well made, very comfortable to wear, strong, robust and have a superior sole and lacing system.
