Napier Razorback Range Bag

Napier Razorback Range Bag

The ethos of Napier’s ‘Razorback’ range is to take a suitable and already popular product from the Napier roster and to upgrade the materials used in the manufacture plus improve the original design. Here we have the Razorback (RB) version of their popular range bag.

Improvements

It has a heavy-duty ‘LAMTEC’ canvas outer shell bonded to 4-function layers. These include a waterproof membrane, high-density 10mm foam padding, EVA Tough Shell and a soft ‘Syn-fleece’ lining. There are also Armour Flex scuff panels and comfortable non-slip, rot proof, webbing shoulder straps plus the superb Grip Lock ergonomic handles. Also, the company’s unique ‘Weather Seal Guard’ protects zips and ensures a waterproof seal when closed. In addition to all of this, there are elongated tag pullers on all zips for ease of operation.

The insides

The Razorback Range Bag measures 12”x 9”x 10”. Externally for extra storage, there are two 7”x7”x2” deep zippered side pockets. Opening the Velcro fastened top over flap immediately reveals the main internal compartment. The flap itself even has a very useful 11”x 6” flat zip lid pocket. The bag can stand upright retaining its shape, held off the ground due to the heavily reinforced base and four ABS feet.

Looking inside the main internal compartment reveals a full ‘bag size’ compartmental divider on the bottom. This can lay flush at the base or be raised up to be secured centrally, to create a twotier arrangement. This is done using the two Velcro strips running along both the front and backsides of the bag. This is a handy feature which means everything you take doesn’t have to be lumped in together, potentially getting damaged. It also makes finding kit inside the bag much easier.

Extra

Trimmed with rugged ‘scuff panels’, these are positioned at the front section of the top cover, and a large full section covers and surrounds the outer bottom section and comes partway up all sides. The only RB build feature that is omitted, is the fleece lining, as the strong Nylon lining is much more suited to this luggage.

For ease of transportation, it has integral, strong, double carry handles that secure together with the innovative Grip Lock handle system plus a detachable shoulder strap with the unique rubber textured, non-slip section that adds padding for the shoulder.

It’s roomy enough for ammo, scorecards and a host of usual accessories. I’ve used this bag extensively now for a couple of years when testing guns and for my own practice sessions, zeroing and the like. I’ve no reason to doubt that it’s going to carry on serving me well for many years to come.
