Reading the wind is key to any shooting discipline and although it’s nothing new to see creative wind flag designs, MTM has really nailed this one.

The all-in-one package clips together for storage to help avoid losing any parts. The red polymer blade stores the twin poles that slot together after spiking into the ground, with a thin, steel, low friction pivot pin to slot the flag over. A green sticker is supplied to easily differentiate the two sides quickly and a secondary orange ribbon is applied to assist with speed as well as direction variation. The aluminium poles weigh virtually nothing and it all clips back together safely and easily (the steel pin is quite slim) to tuck back in your range bag.

I have hung onto this one and intend to buy a couple more. They withstand rain and sunlight, the metal is corrosion resistant, and I can’t think of a better gift for your birthday or Christmas list in 2021.
