Remington Pest Controller Pellets Review: A Budget Option

Traditionally styled, waisted, dome-headed pellets continue to dominate the airgun market, and for good reason. That shuttlecock profile is aerodynamic, and a dome head is far less prone to damage than a pointed design, for example.

What are the features of these pellets?

Remington Pest Controller domed pellets are well presented and come supplied in a handy screw-cap plastic tub, and on opening, there’s an obvious discolouration, giving the Pest Controllers a slight black tint. A long, smooth body and hollow skirt, with a fully domed head, give them a good start in life, but there’s more.

A fine coating of protective graphite-type material is applied at the production stage, which increases the level of hardness, yet the pellets aren’t dirty to handle. A weighed sample proved remarkably consistent, with figures between 7.1gr and 7.25gr, which is slightly lighter than the 7.56gr specified.

Are they worth trying?

On visual inspection, these Remington Pest Controllers certainly look precisely made, so for a budget, general-purpose pellet, they are well worth a try in any pellet trials, being roughly half the cost of many top brands.

Available in both .177 and .22 calibres, they are distributed in the UK via SMK.
