With an abundance of add-on accessories aimed at the outdoor shooter, there’s a growing number of enthusiasts that understandably wish to take advantage. Add a laser and you can transform your hunting trips. Likewise, a bipod can transform a gun’s handling, offering a stable platform from which to take shots, or just a solid rest when laying the gun down in-between the action.
Fixing these accessories in place can sometimes be tricky if their fittings aren’t compatible with the rifle’s. But adaptor rails are now increasingly common to overcome this situation, and Sure Shot Airguns are now offering several accessories to solve this issue. They distribute Aeron, who manufacture a Picatinny adaptor rail that can be fitted to any airgun that has a UIT/ Anschutz accessory rail, which is normally found at the 6 o’clock position on the forend. It is machined from high grade aluminium and weighs just 2.5oz, so there’s no undue weight to speak of. There are two lengths available depending on its use, the 100mm or 155mm.
The unit simply slides onto the rail, which many rifles now come fitted with as standard. It is easily secured by gently nipping up the two Allen screws, and once it is in position, it is ready to accept a much wider variety of accessories with the even more common Picatinny/ Weaver style mounting systems. With most of them being quick release (QR) it provides a much more cost effective platform, allowing the use of a single bipod across a wide selection of airguns. It is available from Sure Shot Airguns directly, or from one of their dealers.
