Rowan Engineering HW Trigger Kits

Good trigger control is vital to accuracy, particularly when using a spring-powered recoiling airgun. In relation to that statement, if there’s one area/part that ‘can’ be bettered to suit individual taste on Weihrauch’s HW Rekord Trigger Unit it’s the design of the trigger blade. More often than not ‘trigger position’ is altered by having a set-back blade fitted.

THREE CHOICES

Rowan Engineering have now developed three different configurations of set-back blade in their usual options - brass, natural aluminium or black anodised that are easy to fit.

story continues below...

Denoted as Straight Set-Back, Curved Set-Back and Extra-Set Back all are CNC-machined and fitted with hardened steel rollers. They fit most Rekord triggers with a 2mm diameter pivot pin (see website for entire listing of models) and all versions are a generous 6mm wide!

Although they offer a various levels of set-back characteristic, due to the inward depth of the curve, both the Straight and Curved options shift finger position 4.5mm from that of the original factory unit, while the Extra increases that to 10mm! All Rowan Triggers directly replace the original blade and come with a brass adjustment screw due to the nature of the design.

The ‘top positioned’ rollers are hardened and precision ground to tight tolerances as this ensures a precise contact when fitted. This means performance is maintained, because even though your finger controls the pull, the blade ultimately is the ‘part’ in direct contact with the mechanism that releases the shot. Trigger guards are available to match the brass or polished aluminium blades and are of a higher quality than the original and can be swapped over with no stock work required.
77 AND 97K

The accessory HW77 and 97K owners will find useful is the HW Cocking Lever Grip - especially older models that don’t have the front ‘press button’ under-lever release catch. Cosmetically it’s similar to the grip they supply for the Air Arms TX200HC but snugly fits onto the Weihrauch’s 14.mm diameter under-lever and is also suitable for rifles with slightly smaller diameter levers.

One side of the ‘grips’ 21mm O/D is machined with a radius leaving a 0.5mm wall thickness to give clearance to moderators when the lever is closed. Measuring 90mm long including the rear tapered section, 75mm of the outer has a Bi-directional Multi-Start Helical Groove machined across its length – in layman’s terms it’s a diamond pattern. It gives a non-slip characteristic to the lever. It’s secured into position with three Allen grub screws and like many Rowan products is CNC machined using single billets of material.
