Renowned for their excavators, JCB offer two models of Groundhog ATV. Available as either a 4x4 or 6x4 both with three cylinder diesel engines and constantly variable transmission, the Groundhog offers users a variety of options dependant on need. Where the 4x4 is better suited to more arduous off-road conditions offering a slightly higher ride height, shorter wheel base, increased occupant protection and tighter turning circle from their shared rack and pinion steering. The 4x4’s wheel base is 7,440mm compared to 8,500mm for the longer 6x4 version which is more at home around parkland layouts.

Apart from their obvious differences predominantly in 10 gauge floor plate, drop side cargo deck size, the bed 78mm longer on the 6x4 model, both share a maximum payload of 700kg with an unbraked towing capacity of 500kg. Both models benefit from a comprehensive range of useful accessories that can be added as and when required such as hard and soft cabs, road and work lights, trailer electrics, winches and factory tow balls.
