Side-parallax adjustment dials are now common place on many popular airgun scopes and not just those in the domain of the F.T shooter. Even if you don’t use the side-parallax facility to assess range, it’s easier and quicker to bring your target into pin sharp focus if you have a side-wheel fitted. Now, not all scopes with side-parallax have a side-wheel option, Rowan Engineering have (as usual) taken this into consideration and have now brought out two sizes of what they term as a Universal Fit Side-Wheel.
They’re in the popular sizes of 125 and 150mm and both work by using a system of locating jaws that allow them to be compatible with almost any optic. These jaws can be repositioned and or removed, so that the wheel uses 3, 4 or 5 jaws – the number used depends on the number and shape of the grooves on your PA dial. There’s also an option of both sizes that are designed to fit scopes that have an integral illuminated reticle control and details of this and which scopes require which size and type of Universal Fit Side-Wheel are all on their very comprehensive website. Both sizes are available in natural aluminium and black anodised aluminium finish and come with easy to follow fitting instructions.
Incidentally, if you do use the wheel to determine range, Rowan can also supply printed labels.
