Rowan Engineering first came to the airgunner’s attention when they designed a retrofit, manually operated magazine system for the popular Air Arms S400 series of single shot PCP air rifles; mainly so that HFT competitors/owners of that specific rifle could use it to reap the benefits that a multi-shot PCP offers for hunting. Such was its popularity, Rowan began to manufacture ‘individual’ types to fit other models of PCP but due to the many different breech loading bay configurations and other specific size specifications, it wasn’t ideal having to set up a CNC machine to manufacture the ‘mounting bracket’ for each and every model – especially if it isn’t popular.
To combat this, they’ve designed the Universal Multi- Shot Magazine System. It’s available in both .177 and .22 calibre and classed ‘Universal’ because the mounting bracket is fully adjustable to accommodate all size specifications that need to be considered to allow it to be fitted. If in doubt - check the company’s website that gives full information.
The ‘kit’ is comprised of 1x magazine assembly, 1x mounting bracket, 2x Allen keys needed to fit/adjust the ‘bracket’ plus full fitting instructions. The mounting bracket attaches to the dovetails and the magazine assembly slips into the breech loading bay guided and held in place by this adjustable ‘bracket’.
Incidentally .177 magazines ‘hold 9 pellets, .22 magazines hold 7 and because all magazine assemblies have the same dimensions, spares can be purchased separately.
Importantly, you need to consider if you require a left or right hand side fitting magazine; reason being, as the inner aluminium drum is designed with a ‘finger notch’ to be manually indexed around by the thumb of your leading hand – right-handed shooters will require a left-hand fitting system and vice versa.
