The ‘Orange Peel’ name comes from the fact that these targets are adhesive-backed sheets guaranteed to stick to virtually any surface. They show a black face against an orange background which when hit, disintegrates allowing a luminous splash or cloud to surround your bullet hole.
Available in a wide range of shapes and sizes from simple circles and silhouettes to life size animals in full colour, these are handy accessories for any range bag. When zeroing lower powered scopes, a larger target is often required to get a good sight picture and these targets can combine that with the dual colour flake off technology that allows holes to not only double in size and go neon to highlight their position, but show a green `splash` in the target centre with an orange splash outside.
Using larger targets at longer range, shooters can learn about wind deflection and drop without the need for high magni? cation riflescopes or separate spotting scopes used by a partner to `call` shots. There is no chance of losing a bullet hole in a surrounding sea of black any more. The packs on test both contained 10 sheets showing either individual 5½” circles or ?ve 2” circles.
Caldwell Orange Peel targets have a RRP of £7 per pack.
