Mtech USA Lock Knife MultiTool

At first glance, this little tool looks like a half-built knife, however, a closer look reveals that it is actually a very clever, mini multi-tool. The 2 ½” 3Cr13 stainless steel blade sports a high, flat grind and a nicely tapered drop-point tip. There is a thumb hole in the blade to assist opening and a liner-lock makes operating the blade quick and simple. Once deployed, the lock is very strong and secure.

The really clever bits are all featured on a second ‘blade’, which can also be deployed and closed with one hand. It holds a gut hook, a serrated blade, a flat-head screwdriver and a bottle opener. All of these tools work well and they are strong. Having all of these functional and useful tools on one blade means that the whole tool is exceptionally compact and lightweight.

The handle is very thin, just 4” long and is made of extremely durable, injection moulded nylon fibre. It gives a reasonable hold and although you would not want to be using it for a long time, it is very functional for the occasional odd job it is designed for. A carabiner built into the end of the handle allows you to attach the tool to your backpack or belt hoop, and being so small and light, you barely notice it is there.

Overall, this is a great piece of equipment if you want something significantly lighter and less bulky than your average multi-tool.
