Benchmaster Medium Bench Bag

Bench Master produce a range of shooting bags, supplied either pre-filled or empty, made of topquality bison leather which is both tough and flexible. All of the seams are very well stitched, to prevent leakage, and there is a large filling spout underneath. The underside of the bag is made of a waterproof and non-slip material so it is stable on most surfaces.

The medium bench bag on test, supplied prefilled, is approximately 6½-inches square on the base and 5½-inches high at the point on which the gun rests. As well as being nice and wide at the top it is also deep, supporting about 4-inches of the length of the rifles forend. This means that the rifle sits really well supported and it can actually be balanced on the bag with care. The ‘ears’ either side of the notch are around an inch high and help support the gun effectively.

In use the bag proved heavy enough to be nice and stable and it cradled the rifle really well, they filled it just right so the top can be shaped to the profile of the gun. The softer material used in the notch will not mark the guns forend and the leather on the body of the bag looks tough enough to last for years. Overall this is a great range bag and it is well priced compared to other brands. There is also a large and a small bag available in the range and they can all be supplied either empty or prefilled. Prefilled is the better choice as they know just how much to put in it.
