Flitz Cleaning Products

Henry Kranks and Co. Ltd has another new brand on their shelves, Flitz, and it looks like a great range that is well worth a look. Here are a few of the products that they currently have in stock.

Flitz Metal Polish Paste

This is a smooth non-abrasive cream intended for cleaning many types of metal surface. On a stainless Taurus LBR the finish achieved is truly amazing, the gun looks like new with very little effort. It did a great job of removing the burn rings on the front of the cylinder and you only need to use a very small amount of paste to get good results. The makers state that it can be used on factory blueing on guns, but I have not yet got up the nerve to try this on one of my own guns!

Flitz Gun Bore Cleaner

This is an environmentally safe bore cleaner and it does exactly what it says on the bottle. It is a very effective bore cleaner and its consistency is such that there is no mess or excess fluid to run into the action of the gun.

Flitz Rifle, Gun and Knife Wax

Having cleaned a gun you want to protect it from the elements, and prevent oxidation or finger marks on the surfaces. This wax is a carnuba and beeswax formula and provides a protective ‘seal’ to the surfaces which is rain resistant and will not attract dust. Applied to a high-quality knife it really added a nice shine and once dried it did not feel greasy or wet. If you collect knives or guns this stuff would be ideal for keeping your items safe from deterioration due to the environment or sticky fingers.

Flitz Tumble Media Additive

Tumblers that use a coarse media to clean cases do not really ‘polish’ the brass so while they leave them clean they do not make them shiny like new. This product is added to the dry media and the makers claim that it “cuts tumbling time in half”. This may be achieved with some types of media, and while I was not able to confirm that claim, I certainly found that the finish achieved on cases was certainly better if not quicker.

Flitz Sealant Spray

At first I was not sure about what applications this product would have, but after reading the instructions I was soon using it everywhere. As a waterrepellent sealant it is ideal for protecting anything that might otherwise be affected by a moist environment. Reloading presses and dies, tools and guns all had a quick spray and the sealant dries quickly leaving a “shell type” coating. It works well on all the surfaces I used it on.
