Yamaha

story continues below...

This company offers an all embracing range of eight universally proven and highly respected quads known collectively as Grizzlies although the singleton Bear Cat creeps in one place above entry level. Divided into five air-cooled and three liquid cooled, the 4-stroke wet sump engines vary from 125cc to 700cc with both 2 and on demand 4-wheel drive plus diff locks, v-belt or semi-automatic transmission and reverse with low and high ratios on the certain models, short and long wheelbase, dual rate springs, independent rear and fully adjustable front suspensions.

Carrying capacities range from 5kg to 45kg on the front rack and 10kg to 85kg on the rear with certain models such as the 550 and 700 capable of towing a further 550kg on their factory fitted ball hitch. As might be expected of Yamaha, the accessories are practical and plentiful and include additional hitches, winches, snow ploughs and crop sprayers, more than sufficient to turn any Yamaha quad into a small multi-purpose tractor.
