Phillips Gun Blue Paste

A scratch on a gun is unsightly, potentially affects its value, and exposes the bare metal to the elements. Phillips Gun Blue Paste is an effective way of touching up scratches on guns or any other blued items. Although it is described as a paste, the jar actually contains small blue crystals which require rehydrating with a few drops of water. This is not covered by the instructions but it is very quick and easy to do. Once you have a smooth consistency you degrease the scratched area and apply the paste with a soft cloth or a cotton bud. For small scratches, a pin can be used to apply paste precisely along the length of the damaged area.

The metal turns black very quickly leaving a nice even matt finish. The paste is then washed away and the newly blued area just needs to be oiled to protect the finish, it really is that quick and easy.

The paste is not really suitable for larger areas of damage but on small marks and scratches the repair is hard to detect. This is a great product and at just £4.90 per jar, it is really good value.
