Radians Safety Glasses by Vanessa English

For shooters, eye-protection is just as important as ear-protection, so a pair of ballistic shooting glasses is a must. But the choice is huge. For example, there are lots of shooting glasses you can buy that come as complete kits with a choice of half a dozen lenses and a padded case to put them in, and I’ve tried quite a few of them… but the bulky case often gets left behind, and the lenses you clipped into the frames last time often aren’t the ones you want now. It’s the familiar story of having too much choice. Full kits obviously tend to cost more as well.

These Radians Journey glasses from UKMC Pro represent a different strategy: KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid).

So you choose between smoke, yellow or clear lenses when you buy, pay less, and that’s that. Or, if you still can’t decide, buy two pairs: it’ll still work out cheaper than a whole kit. Despite the low price and fixed lenses, they still offer some nice features. The frames have a dipped camo finish, 4-position telescoping temples for a custom fit, and a comfortable rubber nose piece; whilst the lenses are hard-coated for scratch resistance, provide 99.9% UVA/UVB protection, and are made from a ballistically-tested polycarbonate to keep your eyes safe in the field. What more do you need? Price: £16.29 per pair. Contact UKMC Pro on tel. 02392 838 800 or visit www.ukmcpro.co.uk
