Bear Grylls Grandfather Pocket Knife
- Last updated: 28/11/2016
Based on a knife that Bear’s grandfather passed down to his dad and then to Bear himself, Gerber has honoured the classic style and utility of ‘the Grandfather Pocket Knife’ by designing it to hold 7 utilitarian components while maintaining the vintage style and appearance of the original. This shows through in the all 5Crl5Mov Steel construction and over-moulded TPU Rubber handles. Both of the grey handle side-plates also incorporate stainless steel BG Badge insert plus brass effect end pieces.
Measuring 3.75” in the closed position, and 6.25” with the 2.75” fine edge blade deployed, it weighs a solid yet sensible 3.5oz. The very compact design also holds a corkscrew, flat and Phillips head drivers, small file and a bottle opener. All are easy to deploy having thumb nicks and lock out very securely. The knife has a useful full 2.5” of fine edge blade, big enough for substantial use yet compact enough to carry out more delicate cutting tasks.
The rubber-moulded grips add to its easy-to-hold shape and offer more security in the hold when used in wet or cold conditions. The fine edge blade is easy to sharpen and there’s a lanyard ring for adding a small strap.
The Bear Grylls Survival Series Grandfather Pocket Knife is priced at £29.99; for your nearest stockist contact Gerber on 01506 406277 or visit www.gerbergear.co.uk
