Elk Ridge Bolster Fixed Blade Knife Review
- Last updated: 13/08/2025
This is an unusually shaped knife with some interesting features. The rust-resistant 3Cr13MoV stainless steel clip-point blade is 3.25” long, 1.6” deep, and 0.15” thick, making it a very stout and heavy-duty tool. It is also pretty heavy for its size, and it certainly feels like it can take a fair bit of use and abuse. Being so unusually wide, the blade can be used as a scoop or even a digging tool if the need arises, and it is also very rigid.
The nicely shaped wooden scales are bolted to the knife, and there is a very large and comfortable finger choil to enhance grip and control of the blade. The oversized lanyard hole is another useful feature, allowing you to attach a relatively large rope or strap to the knife.
With a nice matte black finish on the blade and the dark wood handles, this is a nice-looking tool, and it comes with a good-quality brown leather sheath with a press-stud fastener.
This knife is particularly well suited to camp craft or even skinning and dressing large game, as the strong, flat and wide blade will make the heavy part of skinning game easier.
This is a low-cost knife that actually represents good value for money. The build quality is better than the price might suggest, and it is well-finished and presented. At just 7.25” in overall length, it is a neat, compact tool, and given the price, it makes a great choice for a budget camp knife.
