Jack Pyke Poacher Tri-blade

Jack Pyke offer a very interesting Tri-Bladed locking knife named the Poacher. All the blades are manufactured from 440HC stainless steel and lock in and out very securely.

To deploy any blade you can use the thumbholes integrated into their design. The Poacher measures 4 ½” in the closed position and weighs 10.5oz. It features a 3” saw blade, 3.5” gut hook knife blade and a 3.5” fine edge clip point blade. Due to the three blades, the frame measures 7/8” wide, but this serves as a bonus, giving a very solid grip in use.

Lower priced knives can often feature substandard handles, but this isn’t the case with the Poacher. Outwardly, the ABS plates are adorned in a camo finish, but on handling you immediately notice they’re also textured. Not only that, but the lower part of the handle is contoured and includes a deep finger choil that fits the hand perfectly. For a knife of this type, this in itself is a huge bonus as it’s a blade designed for heavy-duty field tasks.

Another redeeming feature is the clever locking system. Once a blade is deployed it holds solid in the open position. To release any blade, simply push in both of the ridged retaining catches seen in the middle top side, towards the back of the handle. This clever design means there’s no possibility that it can be operated accidentally.

Overall, the Poacher is a specialised tool that punches far above its bargainbasement price tag.
