Neck knives have a real place when you are camping in the great outdoors. Of course, they are not ‘Everyday’ carry in the UK but for any outdoorsy activity they are often over-looked.

story continues below...

The Necker 70 is EnZo’s take on a small camp knife, it comes in two different blade grinds, many different handle scales and two types of sheath. I was sent a Scandi grind with green micarta scales and a Kydex sheath, for such a small knife it sits very well in the hand. They also sent a blank flat grind knife for me to fit my own scales, I chose orange G10 with brass fittings. The blank is only £25.95, perfect for a project knife. The Kydex sheath has five paracord/chain holes to allow many, many options for carry around the neck; it can go handle down or up, ‘Mountain man’ style. You can attach the sheath to your belt via a length or paracord and have the knife in your pocket, a bit more paracord through the lanyard hole and you can retrieve and deploy the knife, you can even with loops to carry horizontal on a belt. Wandering around camp in just your shorts, ideal. Or for more normal conditions in the UK, if its freezing cold and you are wearing gloves, a neck knife is so much easier to deploy than a folder.

The Necker 70 is a knife I wished I had known about years ago, a definite camp carry from now on. Thanks to Bruce and Richard at Heinnie Haynes.
