Jack Pyke Galbraith Smock

Jack Pyke Galbraith Smock

If there’s any individual item of outdoor wear that’s stood the test of time, then there’s a very high probability it’s the Smock. Its design and usage have a long history, even before the hunting and hiking fraternity adopted it. However, some feel them restrictive when worn due to some being overly long, plus some lack of stowage and temperature regulation can be an issue, so choose carefully!

The Jack Pyke Galbraith smock, on the other hand, is a medium-length design, so isn’t restrictive and is very easy to get in and out of. It follows the traditional design, with integral hood toggle adjusters, baffled neck zip with over flap, plus adjustable wrist cuffs.

It’s manufactured with a tough 3-layer build, has a 100% polyester brushed tricot outer, with a laminated waterproof membrane plus mesh inner. The latter helps it to be fully breathable, so you’ll not feel damp or clammy. The Tricot enables it to feel soft to the touch and be quiet in use.

For stowage, it features a traditional large front pocket with waterproof zip and flap, and although the garment’s length is more conservative it still manages to include two, angled lower pockets all with weatherproof zips plus pull assists. The lower hemline also includes a strong toggle adjust drawstring for cinching the smock to the body for extra protection from the elements. All that said, for those who require a garment easier to stow and carry in a pack this is a smock that’ll be of great use and appeal.
