    The Sauer 100 Keeper is mission-specific, being only chambered in 223 Rem, for its role as a vermin and small deer rifle. It comes bundled with a Minox ZX5 3-15x56 scope, HEXALOCK QD mounts and a reflex moderator. There’s a 3-position safety, rear/right of the action and the trigger is adjustable from 2.2- to 4.2lbs. Capacity is four in a detachable magazine. The stock is synthetic and comfortable to use and the 20-inch, light/medium barrel is fluted, and threaded 15x1mm. In use, the Keeper shot very well and as a package is impressive!

    Bergara’s B13 single shot rifle is well worth a look! This break-barrel action is available in a number of calibres and 16- and 20-inch lengths, here is the synthetic, thumbhole stocked Take-Down. There’s no safety; instead, a rebound external hammer, the gun is opened by squeezing in on the hinged trigger guard. The action is extract-only, so cases must be pulled free by fingers. A Picatinny rail is fitted as standard and rifles come threaded. The thumbhole stock is comfortable and offers good head support, plus offers a quick-change barrel. Light, handy, simple and accurate, it might appeal!

    Savage Lightweight Hunter

    The Trophy Hunter is a compact (16-inch barrelled) rifle, built to be small and light. The metal is all-stainless and the muzzle threaded ½ x 20-inch UNF. The black synthetic stock with thick, rubber recoil pad floats the barrel and an AccuTrigger is fitted as standard. Feed is from a 4-round detachable magazine and the safety is a tang-type. The bolt is spiral fluted, again to save weight and the rifle comes with a set of Weaver bases. Not the prettiest of guns, but it shoots and if you want compact and light, this is it!

    Howa offers a fine selection of rifles. The action is a Remington 700/Win Model 70 cross, with a 3-position safety and floor plate, top-loading magazine. There are three actions lengths: mini - 204 Ruger/223 Rem, short - 308 Win etc. and long - 30-06 etc. in a good choice of calibres. Finishes include blue, stainless and Cerakote, along with a wide choice of stocks from basic plastic, through laminates to chassis systems. Plus, a detachable box mag system.
