PAO HDMAX4 4-16x44 FFP Scope: UK’s Lightest FFP?
- Last updated: 03/11/2025
A Staffordshire company claims to have launched the shortest and lightest First Focal Plane scope currently available in the UK market.
The Shooting Party of Shenstone has announced the PAO HDMAX4-16 x 44 SF FFP Ultra Compact rifle scope, which measures 23cm long and weighs 430g.
The optic is rated for air rifles, rimfire and centrefire applications. It features a First Focal Plane reticle, where the aiming marks scale with magnification, and a 30mm tube. Construction is aircraft-grade aluminium with a hard-annodised matte finish.
The lenses have multiple anti-reflective coatings and the scope has been filled with nitrogen to prevent internal fogging. Focus extends down to 10 yards, which the company says will suit airgun shooters working at close range.
The adjustment turrets can be locked to prevent accidental movement and have a built-in stop to preserve the zero setting. Included in the package are 20mm picatinny mounts, an 8cm sunshade, flip-up lens covers, a removable sidewheel for parallax adjustment and a detachable zoom throw lever.
Mike Hurney, chairman of The Shooting Party, said the scope “offers a feature-rich specification that combines quality, accuracy and value unrivalled in the market today”.
A lifetime replacement warranty is included. The Shooting Party imports and distributes the PAO brand exclusively to the UK retail trade.
Availability is scheduled for November 2025 with a recommended retail price of £229. Visit shootingparty.uk
