In today’s video, we’re looking at the highly anticipated successor to the legendary Alpex 4K: the HikMicro Alpex Pro A50PL.
Having used the original 4K on my deer rig for years, I wanted to move past the spec sheet and answer the three fundamental questions every hunter actually cares about:
1. Has the daytime performance actually improved?
2. Does the f/1.8 aperture and “Light Pro” algorithm get the job done?
3. Does the narrower field of view and 4x base mag make any difference?
I’ve put this unit through its paces on an FAC airgun, a centrefire rifle, and a sub-12ft/lb airgun to see if this is a genuine evolution or just a fancy facelift.
Technical Specification:
Weight: 889g (huge reduction from the 1,176g original!)
Sensor: New 12MP CMOS detector
Aperture: Fixed f/1.8 with ‘Light Pro’ algorithm
Magnification: 4x-24x (lossless up to 9x)
Price: £849.99 (guide)
