MPR Butt Pad Spacer

The Air Arms MPR (Multi-Purpose Rifle) is a respected, time-tested and accurate single-shot PCP originally intended for FT/HFT. Another S400-based action option that could possibly attract the attention of airgun hunters who prefer a more FT-style stock than the S400 has. Those features being the height-adjustable cheekpiece, sliding rubber butt pad and an accessory rail for fitting the company’s optional Hamster or basic two prong non adjustable bipod.

WELL CATERED FOR

Air Arms also offer a Butt Pad Spacer Kit that extends the length of pull (LOP) along with a Butt Hook as optional extras. So you’d think this model is well catered for! Apparently not as Rowan Engineering began to be asked for custom spacer kits for these rifles – some might think this strange but HFT shooters not only like their ‘bling’ but also so know what they prefer for optimum performance!

Rowan made a few to special order, the word spread and more were requested, often to measurements similar to the bespoke models. This has resulted in them offering an off the shelf MPR Butt Pad Spacer Kit.

CNC machined in 6082 aluminium with aluminium spacer posts, it re-uses the original butt pad when fitted (as per the other kits of this type they produce). Before ordering, they advise you measure the butt end with the rubber butt pad removed. A diagram on their website shows exactly where to measure the width and height. The reason - the stock end face should be approximately 1mm smaller in overall height and width than the plate dimensions shown in the CAD diagram on the site.

The kit contains the necessary hardware to re-fit the existing pad plus full instructions. The spacers are 18mm in diameter and you have the choice of ordering either a 27 or 37mm thick spacer kits.

Reason being the former comes with 2X 15mm spacers which gives you 27mm from end of stock wood to where the original rubber butt pad is affixed to. The latter comes with 2X 25mm spacers therefore giving an extended length of 37mm. Additional spacers are also available in pairs which can easily be stacked together to increase the length of the pad spacing to suit.

HAMSTER

To complete your set up Rowan also now offer a CNC machined polished aluminium Hamster,dimension from barrel centre line to base of plate is approximately140mm. It easily attaches to the underside of the stock using the factory-fitted threaded bushes. The black Delrin Hamster option is still available as are trigger shoes in all the usual options.
