MFH Rifle Bag

Military 1st carries a large range of MFH gear, from backpacks and clothing to shovels and tents, and the quality of the products is very well known.

What have we got?
The rifle bag on test is a well-made item, and it’s available at a very competitive price. There are two carry handles, a detachable and adjustable shoulder strap, and detachable backpack-style carry straps (including a waist strap), so you can carry the rifle however you like. All of the straps are nice and wide, making for a comfortable carry, and the option to detach the ones you are not using allows you to ‘declutter’ the outside of the bag and just retain the one(s) you want. The fact that there are two carry handles situated next to each other on the spine of the bag, means that if the load sits out of balance on one handle, you can use the other one. The carry options on this bag are really well thought out, and MFH has very cleverly covered all of the options.
On the side of the bag, there are three bellowed pockets, with flaps secured with Velcro, for accessories and ammunition. The large pocket is approximately 30x22cm, with two straps inside to secure larger objects, and the two smaller pockets are 22x10cm. The fact that the three pockets are bellowed, and very large, means that they will hold a lot of accessories without putting any pressure on the side of your gun or scope. There is also a longer side pocket, approximately 60cm long, with a zip on the fore-end section of the bag.

Finer details
All of the stitching is very well done, and reinforced at stress points, and the zips, clips, and buckles are all good quality. The surface of the internal padding is well thought out, allowing the gun to slip in easily without too much friction. This will prevent any rubbing on the rifle or accelerated wear on the inside of the bag.
The main compartment is approximately 120cm (48”) long and is well-padded to protect the gun. It has a double, and lockable, zip along one end for approximately half of the length of the bag, and it is deep enough to carry a scoped rifle comfortably.

Finally
The bag weighs just 1.2kg, and the external dimensions are 123x30x6cm. It is big enough to carry a large, scoped rifle and a lot of accessories safely, and the level of protection is very good. Overall, it is a great carry option at a very reasonable price.
