Digi Cam

Video footage is captured by a tiny 3MP pinhole CMOS digital camera/video recorder. This is positioned centrally on the bridge of the nose, which allows you to film as you shoot (not through the scope but down the side of the rifle as your head is cocked over in the aim). With 4GB of built in memory (approx 2hr video) these cool camo shades also support Micro SD cards up to 8GB, which is a lot of capacity! Though water resistant it’s recommended not to use in the rain.

All controls and main circuitry are held in the ‘thicker’ and more protected section seen on the left side of the eyewear. This includes a microphone, 4GB internal memory, the easy to use push button for accessing all operations. Behind on the inner side of this area is the reset button and the LED indicators that show battery charging, status as you use the eyewear and when the unit is in recording mode, paused and ready to begin or stop recording. The blue LED light that indicates recording status is positioned at the very front left of the inside of the frame. At first you do notice it in your peripheral vision but soon get used to it being there and doesn’t distract you from the job in hand.

USB Connector

On the underside is the Micro SD card slot for extra memory and the PC/Mac compatible USB connector point which also doubles as the charging port too. The video facility has a pre-set 25 f.p.s running speed, gives superb quality images but the mono audio facility isn’t as consistent unless you are relatively close to the sound source. Using the downloadable USB lead included what you see is stored as an AVI video file. You can also download the free media player from www.hsindustries.com this sets the camera to the appropriate time for your country of use and initiates the eyewear to take still images as Jpegs and in general gives useful information.
