MX3 Meals

Although I have not yet tried out the full range of over 20 recipes available, I have been most impressed with the quality, flavour, texture, smell and look of the MX3 meals I have tasted so far.

The French chefs who made this range of freeze-dried meals have got it just right as the meals are not only lightweight, vacuum packed for compact storage and carrying, but are also easy to prepare, very appealing to look at, taste good, are satisfying (without overfilling) and are of a good calorific value to keep you going.

To prepare the meals you simply snip off the top of the foil packet above the resealing strip, open up the packet and add boiling water to the fill line, stir the contents of the bag and reseal it for between 10 and 15 minutes.  You then open the bag, stir the contents again and eat.  Simple!

The MX3 Adventure Meals Range includes old favourite main meals such as ‘Pasta Bolognaise’ and ‘Shepherds Pie’ as well as more exotic recipes such as ‘Oriental Chicken Tajine’ and ‘Noodles with Red Curry and Shrimp’ and covers breakfast and desserts as well as.  The imaginatively titled vegetarian options such as ‘Vegetarian Rice’ and ‘Vegetarian Pasta’ could also be used as side dishes for those with extra large appetites.

All the recipes I tried were simple to prepare and excellent meals. There were recognisable pieces of vegetables and meat (not like the grey ‘stuff’ you get with some dehydrated meals!) and they were neither sloppy nor too dry.

So far my favourites are the Tajine – which even had whole nuts in it – and the 4 Cheese Fondue.  Delicious!

Excellent food that is easy to carry, simple to prepare and a joy to eat, the MX3 Meals I have tried are some of the best dehydrated/freeze dried foods I have ever eaten. The meals range in price from around £3.95 for a breakfast muesli or a chocolate dessert, to around £4.99 for a main meal.
