The Ridgeline Warrior EXP Hunting Boot was a very impressive high leg boot for the times conditions dictated the need for such solid rugged footwear. Well it seems the company noticed a few areas that deserved a revamp which has led to the boot undergoing some slight, as well as some very noticeable design changes. Manufactured from full grain Nubuck leather the Hi-Top also has a Hydro Guard waterproof membrane whilst 200g of Thinsulate insulation gives the wearer excellent warmth, breathability and comfort. All the metal lace retainers are fully weather resistant. These include four pairs of captive eyelets and a further four pairs of open hasp type retainers. There’s also a ‘guide hasp’ set approximately halfway up the generously padded tongue. The rugged build of the boot is obvious, which includes a very generous full wrap around tough rubber rand which is configured to give extra protection at the toe and raises up at the rear to give protection at the heel. Above this is a flex panel for wearer comfort.
An area of most change is the boot now boasts a Vibram branded sole, termed HyperGrip it features multi direction traction lugs to give a very high degree of traction on a wide variety of terrain. It also now has a self-cleaning rubber outsole with moulded PU mid-sole technology. These minor and major alterations are a credit to the manufacturers and certainly elevate the boot to a prime position for those looking for footwear of this kind.
