Grub’s Ptarmigan Boots

Likewise, whilst a good stout pair of lace up stalking boots are a great piece of kit, they can at times prove somewhat time consuming when it comes to putting them on and taking them off, especially if the job’s only going to take a couple of minutes. So how does a pair of lace ups that think they’re slip-ons grab you?
Manufactured by Grub, Ptarmigans are an ankle height boot designed to take on the roughest terrain whilst keeping your feet warm and dry thanks to what Grub call 5.0 Technology. This means you have a 5mm thick layer of insulating foam, moisture wicking Terry knit lining and a 4mm thick outer of ultra-resilient rubber whilst each foot is kept safe and anchored to the ground courtesy of a deep rubber rand and a pair of Vibram multi-sports soles. But where the Ptarmigan’s win out is with their elasticated toggle lacing system which means they’re on or off your feet within seconds. Shove your feet in, pull the toggle and the laces tighten up to the exact tension you require. Slide the toggle down, let go and that’s it, a quick reversal of the procedure and they’re off again.
Built to take some real grief whilst cosseting your delicate feet irrespective of the surface or climatic conditions, a pair of Ptarmigans will set you back just £99.95p per pair and are available from any Garlands equipment outlet.
