Shooterking Beanie Hats & Baseball Caps

Depending on the season, most hunters and outdoorsmen wear some type of headwear. If it’s cold, then many will opt for the Beanie, however, the baseball cap is still one of the most universally worn types of headwear. It’s popular because, in moderate weather conditions, it can protect the head from precipitation and shade the eyes from the sun.

As you’d expect, ShooterKing has a wide selection, so having cherrypicked through the range, I’ve chosen what I feel are caps/hats that’ll suit the majority of hunters. To save on repetition, all use a 100% Polyester face shell fabric, but there are some differences in the other materials used.

Beanies

First up are a couple of Beanie-style hats - the Fortem and Huntflex. The former is a wool beanie that offers good insulation and has natural water resistance. This is because of the shell fabric that’s combined with 100% Merino Wool. The importance of Merino wool is it’s finer and softer than normal wool, so feels better when worn close to the skin. It’s also anti-bacterial and highly resistant to odours caused by normal body perspiration or sweating. Other advantages of Merino are its high natural wicking ability, good durability, plus the fact it can still insulate when wet.

An alternative is the Huntflex. Again, this uses the same quality face fabric but also has a Shoottex membrane with fully taped seams for total waterproofing. Both are available in sizes: XS/S, M/L & XL/2XL.

Next up are a selection of baseball-style caps. The Huntflex Summer Cap features a mesh back for increased breathability. It also has a Shoottex membrane has natural water resistance. One side can be used for times you prefer Forest Mist and the other in Blaze Orange is for when you need to be seen by other shooters.

Conclusions

All garments featured are of the highest quality, silent in use, soft to the touch and as efficient as they are practical. The peaked/baseball caps have nice-sized brims that can shade the eyes from the sun, but they are not too long that they interfere with scope use. Most also have brown trim and edging for stylish appeal.
