Niton Trousers

Niton Trousers

Coming in a tough, but lightweight 65% polyester 35% cotton mix ripstop fabric, these Niton trousers have a less “baggy” cut than some tactical trousers and so look smarter on those without tree trunk legs, but they still have all the features you could want and are quiet to wear.

The waist is partially elasticated and has 5 reinforced belt loops that are wide enough to take a 2” (50mm) wide belt. Four of the belt loops also feature metal D-rings for clipping on gear or lanyards. The waistband fastens with a metal press-stud and there is a brass YKK fly zip. The baffle behind the zip buttons across for neatness and security.

Plenty of Pockets
If you want pockets, these trousers offer loads! There are two deep, slash type front pockets with curved edges (reinforced to take the wear of gear/knife clips at the bottom corner) and behind these there are deep horizontal opening pockets with Velcro tab closures. There are also 2 rear pockets which form part of the double seat of the trousers. These pockets have diagonal openings, again with reinforced bottom corners for clips, but also have Velcro tab closures. Behind these pockets are horizontal open-topped pockets of roughly traditional Jeans pocket size. Across the top of the right rear pockets is a webbing strap for clipping gear onto. Below the left front slash pocket is a box style mobile phone pocket with a deep, Velcro-closed, pocket flap. On each thigh, set quite low, are extra large cargo pockets with central inverted pleats and a pocket flap that has 2 velcro tab closures. Inside the right thigh pocket is a D-ring for gear attachment.

The legs of the trousers have double thickness knees with internal access to allow you to add knee pads if you want and the hems are eyeleted to allow you to thread drawcords.

Slim Cut
Light, tough, and with loads of features, these trousers proved a little too slim cut for my tree trunk thighs, although the waist fitted well, but those with an athletic build should find the fit excellent and smart enough for daily wear as well as active wear.

Well made, machine washable, quick-drying and light enough for summer wear, the Niton Tactical Lightweight Trousers come in sizes 30”-50” in leg lengths 30”, 32”, 34”, colours Black, Sand and Khaki, and cost around £40. As an added bonus, at the moment each pair also comes with a free Niton Tactical Pocket buddy worth £14.99.

Free Pocket Buddy
This free Pocket Buddy is a zip-fastened pouch with a grab handle, which fits either into one of the thigh pockets or can fit on a belt for extra (!) carrying capacity.

On the front of the Pocket Buddy there is a set of 3 mesh, open-topped pockets and inside there is a central mesh divider and a key clip on a webbing strap. This Pocket Buddy makes organising your pocket contents easy and convenient.
