Rising Sun At War

Rising Sun At War

story continues below...

This is the latest title in a series, which is turning out to be very popular and very good reference works, also. The sub-title ‘The Japanese Army 1931-1945’ covers a period that some historians view as being the beginning of WWII. It is also a period often overlooked or not known about. Thankfully, this is another of those titles which is redressing that vacuum in military history. The text and extended captions are very explanatory and contain a great deal of detail. However, it is the choice of photographs which make this book. Many are previously unseen and range from troops on parade and training to combat action shots. There is a growing interest in collecting Japanese militaria and this work will help in identifying items of kit. This is probably one of the best books in the ‘Images at War’ series so far.
