The topic has been covered many times, but this is an unhurried production with excellent narration and many of the film clips used are new or rarely seen before. This makes it refreshing in its approach which is chronological. Images of the German pilot shot down and surrounded by Home Guard and then the devastation caused by bombing and long-range shelling shows how Kent was very firmly in the ‘Front Line’ for the duration of the war. This is a film you can watch time and again.
