Dragon Tail Bore Pull

Field pull-throughs are nothing new; calibre-specific they consist of a weighted cord attached to a wider cleaning material sometimes backed up with copper bristles. A new name here is the Dragon Tail Bore Pull. With a 100% braided, Kevlar exterior that is extremely cut resistant to the rifling inside the bore it’s virtually indestructible. The closed cell foam core gives 360° of pressure allowing for a uniform even lubrication of the bore and rifling. It does not incorporate bristles, which means less chance of dragging crud into your barrel that gets caught on them. It’s also hand-washable and we are told it’s good for 500-passes. It’s offered in a number of bore sizes: 9mm, .17/22”, 5.56/223 Rem, 30XL and three shotgun sizes – 12, 16/20 and 28/.410. As can be seen some double up for similar calibres and we assume that the 30XL will also do 6, 6.5 and 7mm as well as .30”? We had a .17/22” on test and it cleaned efficiently, the only thing we found was that the weight that pulls the cord down the barrel is not that heavy and on the 17 we had trouble getting it down the bore. Saying that it worked fine in .22!
