BOAG Championships Adopt New Three-Weekend Format for 2025

Entries have opened for the 2025 British Open Air-Gun Championships (BOAG), with organisers announcing a significant format change that will see the event spread across three weekends for the first time.

What is the new format for 2025?

The National Small-bore Rifle Association (NSRA), which organises the event, said the championships will run at the Lord Roberts Centre, Bisley, beginning with a cadet-only sporter air rifle event. The second weekend will feature ISSF-style air rifle and pistol competitions, with the traditional BOAG sporter event concluding the programme on the third weekend.

The dedicated cadet weekend represents a new addition to the championships, reflecting growing youth participation in the discipline.

How can competitors enter?

Vicki Butler from the NSRA said entries were already filling up for what the organisation has described as “a celebration of 10-metre airgun shooting”. She emphasised that competitors had limited time remaining before the 15 December deadline. Unlike previous years, no late entries will be accepted after the December deadline.
