We welcome the start of the season with a major date change to our long running Easter Thame Country Fair. Over recent years, when Easter has fallen early, the event has suffered from inclement weather, so when the opportunity came to move to the early May Bank Holiday, the move was made. The 19th Thame Country Fair will now be on the Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday, May 5th-6th. At all the shows, the ‘World of Dogs’ is always a hive of activity, with lurchers and terriers showing and racing, gundog scurries, clinics and working tests at Burghley, Cheshire and Wiltshire. This year we will continue our series of minor and rare breed tents, looking to attract more interested breeds. Judy Hempstead has extended her gundog breeds marquee to cover all five events this year, so overall we should be displaying a large number of breeds at each event. To round off the activities there are various arena displays and of course a bit of fun for visitors with the fun dog show and chase the bunny. Moving on to another new attraction: the Shooting Village, where Dave Mills ATEO is back with a full range of competitions: 20m paper target and 40m knock down target bench rest ranges. Test and use the full BSA and Gamo range; Plus Brocock and Daystate rifles. Tesro pistols and rifles on show, with availability of a full blown 20 min lesson using Olympic 10m range (subject to time availability) using these unique, handmade Tesro air guns. Come and experience the Tesro smile! 20m competition qualifiers, sponsored by BSA, using a BSA GOLDSTAR can win a chance to win the BSA Scorpion (adult) or a BSA Ultra JSR (Junior) at the final at Bowood in September. Speed Shoot with light up targets using a CO2 pistol. Pit your skills against the clock and see if you can set a new record in 2019. 2018 record 8.2seconds Daisy BB Airgun range using the legendary Red Ryder rifles. He is joined by Adrian Caddy Archery and RAPTOR Paintball, using up to the minute equipment to deliver a unique and realistic paintball experience.
