Northern Shooting Show to host Northern leg of Shooting Competition
  • The Northern Shooting Show are proud to announce the Northern heat of the British Shooting Target Sprint National Series 2017 will be hosted over the weekend of the show- Sat 6th & Sun 7th May 2017

  • Target Sprint is an internationally recognised air rifle discipline that combines running with target shooting, (3x 400m Run, interspersed with standing air rifle shooting at knockdown targets). For more information about Target Sprint, please visit the British Shooting website. British Shooting Events and Project Co-ordinator, Gorgs Geikie, said: "We feel this is an enticing way to get young people into the sport of shooting adding some much needed new blood, as well as an open environment to welcome back shooting enthusiasts."

  • The Northern Heat is open to Youths (11-15 years), Juniors (16-20 years) and Seniors (21 & over) - ages as of the 31st December 2017. As our commitment to get ‘new blood’ into the sport, entrants will pay £5 to receive a training session, enter the competition and have FREE access to the show, (please note, entrants under 15 years on the day must be accompanied by an adult). The British Shooting Target Sprint partner Air Arms will also be there over the weekend to provide their unique 'Air Arms Experience', so don't miss out.

  • Saturday and Sunday of the Northern Shooting Show will see two separate Target Sprint competitions, both of which qualify for the National Final. The morning training and heat time slots available are: 10am, 10:30am, 11:00am, 11:30am, 12pm. From these Heats the top 10 fastest athletes in each age group will qualify for the Final that afternoon and will also qualify for the National Final. If an athlete qualifies for the National Final in the Saturday event, he or she can also compete on the Sunday but can only qualify once and isn’t eligible for the Sunday afternoon Final.

  • Following the success and popularity of the 2016 competition, the regional heats will see athletes qualify for the National Final which is to be held at Sport Wales, Cardiff on Sunday 10th September 2017, by kind permission of the Welsh Target Shooting Federation. You have a chance to take part. To book your ticket please visit the special ticket page on our homepage at www.britishshooting.org.uk Please note; entrants under 15 years on the day must be accompanied by an adult.
