Airsoft Sites: West Midlands
- Last updated: 20/03/2019
I’m a little spoilt for choice, as the West Midlands does have some absolute gems when it comes to the sheer quality and variety of sites on offer. Whilst outfits like First and Only (firstandonlyevents.co.uk) and Gunman Airsoft (gunmanairsoft.co.uk) run some cracking themed games at Anzio Camp and Huntley Woods respectively, there are also some sites that will offer you a game not only each weekend, but also during the week if you so desire! Whatever you fancy in terms of airsoft the West Midlands most certainly has it!

West Midlands Airsoft (WMA) is a wellestablished, UKARA Registered Site and Airsoft Skirmish company with a reputation of excellence. They currently operate from two sites in the Midlands and Staffordshire. First is their woodland site, FOB. This site boasts 120 acres of natural woodland with exhilarating purpose-built gaming areas with the player experience in mind. The second site is their award winning CQB venue, which has a 13,000-square foot gaming area with a 3000-square foot safe zone and shop. There are also smoke machines, lighting effects, interactive game devices and CCTV throughout the site to enhance the experience.
WMA aim to provide a superb and unforgettable airsoft experience at both their Outdoor Woodland site in Staffordshire and the Indoor CQB site in Birmingham. Their game styles are inclusive of all player ability and styles, from the new player to seasoned ‘vet’. Coming up at the end of March, they are also running ‘Operation Breakpoint’, a 24 hour, immersive MilSim event at Swynnerton Training Camp. This looks to be an absolute corker in the making!
Their Marshals, including my great friend and fellow airsoft writer Kelly, have over 50 year’s combined experience in the airsoft world; so, you could say that they know their stuff, so don’t hesitate to ask if you have a question. They have always had great gameplay at their core and they’d like to keep it that way, so rules are strictly enforced for the safety of all players.

This little gem of a site offers challenging terrain and games are played within 45 acres of mature woodland set in 75 acres of outstanding Staffordshire countryside, with three valleys, woodland pool, large forests of rhododendron and mature trees.
They run two skirmish days each month, the first is held on the second Saturday and the second is held on the last Sunday of each month at their site located near to the town of Rugeley in Staffordshire. They also have a firing range with targets from 50 feet to 150 feet and also a pistol range where you can walk around and test your pistol skills.
Walk-ons and hire packages are all catered for on their skirmish days, along with a members’ scheme offering reduced ‘green fees’ for locals. All site hire gun packages are provided by Sixmil; for more information and to book your hire gun packages, please go to their website sixmil.com.
Access to the site is from Bardy Lane, situated 6 miles from Lichfield town centre on the A51 Stone Road between the villages of Longdon and Upper Longdon in Rugeley Staffordshire.

frontierairsoft.co.uk
Frontier Airsoft is based in Staffordshire, near Penkridge and Cannock. They provide highly enjoyable and often themed competitive team-based games in a woodland environment, suited for all players, regardless of experience or age on a 25-acre woodland area thick with trees and many barricades, bunkers, foxholes and defences. There are also a few more prominent features like the abandoned Land Rovers, pillboxes and Winston’s Bridge, and don’t forget Frontier Fort, a large wooden structure. Marshals direct you a safe parking spot and you can unload your gear in the safe zone area, where you book in; there are plenty of under-cover chairs and tables, the shop (free tea and coffee too) and the toilets. Lunch is included in the price, and normally consists of a cheese burger, chocolate bar, crisps and a canned drink, although you may bring you own. Additional snacks and drinks are available to buy. There’s an on-site shop selling BBs, Gas and Grenades and their Hire Shop has a limited number of guns for hire during games (please be sure to request a hire gun when making your booking)

Fronted up by an old mate of mine, Rob, this outstanding new airsoft site based in Cheadle covers over 170 acres of quarry, woodlands, grass areas and lakes that offers all yearround cover. The site boasts some amazing features with £2 million pounds’ worth of investment gone into the infrastructure it; the site has many facilities and not just for airsoft! The site also offers a mixture of mountainous sandy areas and traditional woodlands.
Although there will be a continued effort made to make the site even more airsoft friendly, it has been used previously for LARP events that catered for 300-500 players per event. The venue currently has some structures, but Rob and Op-Tac are in the progress of developing Coms Towers, SAM Sites, Fuel Dumps and ‘Check Point Charlie’, which will all be completed soon.
The plan is to offer a wide variety of games from full weekend events to single days and even night shoots; the game styles will offer all players the opportunity to show all their skills. All their events will be longer themed objective based games with traditional props being used. Events at The Kingdom will be running every two weeks.
There’s a large camping area with tents available to hire, a clubhouse with showers and toilets on site, and everything is finished to a high standard; I’m looking forward to visiting and playing at there this year, probably one of their weekenders, to really make the most of the trip; with games run by one of the ‘old hands’ of the industry and a unique site I have no doubt it’ll be worth the journey!

DMR’s: 400 FPS (min engagement range)
Note: Pyro’s can be used, so long as they are Bio friendly, and please note that due to its special nature, players at ‘The Kingdom’ must use Bio site ammo only, and this is available at the shop when signing in.
All the sites listed offer a great airsoft
experience, and if you’re a new player or someone that fancies having a go at airsoft then they all provide hire packages that include an eye protection, an AEG with magazines, and BBs. All the sites also have busy, regularly updated Facebook and other social media pages, which include photo galleries of both the site and past games, so these are well worth a look. If there are new sites that I’ve missed, then please feel free to contact me and I’ll endeavour to add you in a site update later!
