JTS Dead Center Take Down Airgun Pellets

Anyone coming back to airgun shooting after time away may be surprised to find traditional dome-headed pellets are still dominating the market, yet this time-honoured design still holds all the trump cards in terms of down-range ballistic efficiency. Now, The Shooting Party has just made the choice even harder, with a brand-new pellet launch – the JTS Dead Center Take Down. Initially, these pellets will be available in two different weights and just .22 calibre.

The tins state “Made in China”, so I would hazard a guess that QYS is behind the operation, and that means very high-grade manufacturing. Indeed, out of the 50 pellets weighed from my sample batch, with the 18.1-grain label, one pellet was 18.3-grains, five were 18.2-grains, and the rest were spot on. A very slight variation, in other words, that simply won’t be noticed.

That’s extremely impressive and reassuring for those who either want to use these pellets for competition shooting, where consistency of weight plays a big part, or are looking for precise pellet placement in a hunting scenario. Either way, the quality on offer here looks set to earn this new dome-head an army of fans from the off.
