Gayle Bradley is a well respected American, custom knife maker who collaborates with Spyderco. He builds both folding and fixed blade designs, most notable being his Bradley Folder and Air Folder 2, along with The Bowie and The Sustain. New, is his latest concept, the Junction fixed blade, which is a more compact and all-purpose outdoor style. This full-tang build uses PSF27; a precision-ground, spray-formed tool steel in a 4.15” drop point layout with a full flat grind. Handles are slim G10 scales, with a smooth finish. The Junction only weighs 4.1oz and is 8.45” long and offers a compact build yet with enough muscle to do most chores, from preparing a big red deer to camp tasks. It comes in a black, Boltaron self-locking sheath, with a multi-directional G-Clip that allows different carry angles and positions. In use, the slim handle does not crowd the hand, though was perhaps a bit smooth. There’s a forward finger choil that allows you to choke up on the grip as required. It cuts well and the general drop point shape makes it good for just about any chore a knife of this size can do.
