Jack Pyke Jackets and Fleeces

Jack Pyke has recently added a very interesting selection of upper garments to their range of outdoor wear. They round up here nicely due to the fact they can all be worn as an outer or part of a layer system. As they are all made from 100% polyester, they’re breathable, water-resistant, and windproof. The garments not only vary in design but in both styles of fleece, weight rating, and pocket layout. Incidentally, all the zips have the now familiar pull assist tags.

Snap to it
The Jack Pyke Snap Neck Fleece Top is lightweight and features an embroidered logo on the left chest, elasticated cuffs for a snug fit, and a four-snap front placket for easy closure. Due to it being crafted from 100% polyester, it offers durability and a soft feel. This practical and sleek design is complimented with a double entry, kangaroo-style, front zipped pocket. Interestingly, while the others are green, this can be purchased in dark olive or mustard with a black upper.
The Ashdown Fleece Top is similar, but also different. Although it features elasticated cuffs and the same front placket, its lower kangaroo pocket is accessed by non-zip side entry openings for convenience. Also, as it’s classed as medium weight, it’s warmer. Out of the two, I think it is the most stylish and useful garment because it’s a knitted fleece.

Z top
The Jack Pyke Lightweight Z Fleece has a contrasting collar, zipped breast pocket, and elbow patches. Its lightweight design ensures warmth in diverse weather conditions, making it an ideal choice for outdoor pursuits. It also boasts a zigzag patterned fleece outer, called grid fleece. It has two zip-fastened handwarmer pockets and a zip-fastened chest pocket with a contrasting front panel.

More substantial
The Shires Fleece Jacket is best described as a medium-weight fleece, which gives it a more substantial feel, befitting its classification as a jacket. It features two zippered side pockets and a zippered chest pocket. Designed with both style and durability in mind, it’s the perfect companion for any outdoor activity, offering warmth and practicality. The pile fleece outer not only adds to its stylish appeal but also provides extra warmth.

Conclusion
The Snap Neck tops are cleverly designed as they offer temperature regulation and the high neck provides protection from the elements when the press studs are fastened.
The Lightweight Z Fleece is quite versatile, offering a useful layer should it be required, and a full-length zip opening for ease of getting in and out of.
The Shires Fleece Jacket has a unique appeal. As it uses piled fleece, it offers the most protection, should you require something you’d more likely wear as a standalone garment.
All of the garments have a comfortable stretch fit, making them ideal for the active hunter and the outdoorsman.
