Fleeces are one of the most common items of outdoor attire the hunter, angler, hiker, or all-round outdoorsman can wear in terms of versatility and general usage. As you’d expect, clothing giant ShooterKing has a tempting selection of this style of upper body wear and here I’ve cherry-picked through the range and have decided to highlight a very interesting trio.
First up is the Dawn Fleece Jacket, which is termed ‘a lightweight alternative to a heavy winter jacket.’ The outer shell/face fabric is manufactured using 70% Polyester and 30% Acrylic Fleece. It uses the highly acclaimed waterproof and breathable Shoottex membrane, integrates a super canvas (65% Polyester & 35% Cotton mix), plus the inner is also fleece. This combines to increase the retention of warmth, whilst also reducing the weight of the jacket, resulting in increased mobility.
Storage is catered for by 2x large waist pockets with flaps, 2x inside open pockets, plus a small chest pocket with a zip. It also features reinforced shoulders, adjustable hem, plus hemmed cuffs and the sides partially unzip for temperature control. It’s available in Olive.
The Bush Jumper is a stylish zip-up jumper for men and it is made from 100% wool, for warmth. The 100% super canvas trim fabric adds style, and the Shoottex membrane gives full water and wind protection, whilst offering breathability.
It also features a green patterned interior, high windproof collar, a fast-drying exterior, plus has reinforced shoulders and elbows.
Storage is catered for by 3x front pockets with YKK zips, and access to the jacket is via a heavy-duty YKK slider zipper. All zips have stylish leather pull assists. It’s available in Olive Brown.
The Performance Fleece Jacket uses a micro-fibre fleece fabric and has an anti-pilling treatment, which reduces fabric bobbling, whilst keeping the wearer extremely warm. The shell fabric is 100% polyester fleece with a 100% polyester lining, plus stylish hardwearing PVC trim fabric.
The lightweight design makes it suitable for everyday wear and is the type of over-fleece that’s useful no matter what the season. It boasts 2x large/ deep cartridge pockets and a heavy-duty YKK front zipper with pull assist.
There’s also a Gilet version of the fleece, which has the same features as the jacket. It has an internal coat hook loop and the body warmer design means it has no sleeves. Both are available in Blue, Brown, Bordeaux and Green.
The ShooterKing Fleeces featured are top-quality garments, and are very well priced considering the features and build. The Dawn Fleece Jacket and Bush Jumper are designed to be the more stylish of the trio and can easily cross over to be worn as everyday casual leisurewear.
The Performance Fleece Jacket and Gilet are of a more traditional, ‘throw on’ fleece design, for when the temperature drops. They are very practical and useful for many situations. Also, all garments featured are available in women’s cuts and sizes.
