Lowa Seekers Boots

Lowa Seekers Boots

I am always looking for the best in boots and have been very pleased with Seeker GTX boots from Lowa’s ‘Hunting’ range. Designed to perform in “any weather and any kind of terrain”, Seeker boots go a long way to achieving this ideal.

Made from tough Cordura fabric and split leather, the uppers feature generous padding on the ankle and leg areas, with a padded full-bellows type tongue to stop water, dirt, twigs etc. getting into the boots, while the laces have 4 sets of speed hooks and 5 sets of eyelets.  Thanks to the lower set of hooks being of a ‘locking’ design, you can tension the laces differently over the lower and upper parts of the boots for the perfect fit, and as the locking lace hooks are set deep, they help pull your heel into the boots to avoid slippage.

For waterproof breathable performance, the Seeker boots are Goretex lined, while the outer fabric can be treated with compatible proofings to stop the leather and Cordura absorbing water.

The sole of the boots is a Vibram Vialta unit with a PU shock-absorbing midsole and a three-quarter stabiliser for torsion control and stability.  This has provided great comfort and good grip on a wide variety of terrains, including some really wet and muddy ground (though for really rough terrain I would prefer something a bit sturdier).

Comfortable from the word go, if a little warm in hot weather, the Seeker boots creaked somewhat until their first proofing was applied, but are lightweight, waterproof and well featured – ideal for moderate ground in wet or dry conditions.

Seeker boots are available in brown, sizes 6.5 to 15, and cost around £129.95, while a Ladies’ version is available in sizes 3.5 to 10.

These Lowa Seeker Boots have been some of my favourite field boots, getting a lot of wear over the last year.
