Eyewitness Korea
- Last updated: 27/03/2021
The Korean War is one of those conflicts about which relatively little is written and as a consequence, it is under threat of being forgotten. People may have heard something about this hard-fought war but give it hardly any thought. This book is a timely reminder that many veterans are still around and this is an anthology of their experiences. It includes thoughts of basic training for many of the soldiers who served there as National Servicemen and their actual combat experience and survival. This is a thoughtprovoking and educational work very much worth reading to understand the hardships of a war fought by the United Nations, a world away for many, and in which Britain’s role was not driven by Empire.
