Land Combat

story continues below...

This comprehensive work takes the reader on a guided tour across more than 100-years of land combat from WWI to the beginning of the 21st Century and wars such as Iraq and Afghanistan.

It is divided into two parts, the Industrial Age covering both world wars, and the Nuclear Age, which brings the story up to date. The format explains how countries mobilised their industrial might to wage wars on a scale unprecedented and introduced weapons to the battlefield such as tanks, smart weapons and the ultimate in the form of nuclear weapons. The first half of the book features both world wars and the second half reminds us of some of the post-war conflicts such as the Indo-Pakistan war, along with the more familiar Korean war and Arab-Israeli War. Not much new here for experienced historians but for younger students a good reference work to have handy.
