This is a book written about men who were engaged in some of the fiercest fighting in the most inhospitable terrain and extremes in climate. Sadly, it is an episode of military history which is either neglected or avoided. The author, himself a former serving soldier in the British army, tackles the subject and has produced a gripping and informative narrative. This is about fire-fights, wounds (the author was seriously wounded in a fire fight), weapons and ambushes in a war against a ruthless enemy. The photographs are all real, taken at the time, and this supports a great work.
