For anyone who has ever visited a tank museum or been to an historic military vehicle show this is a great book to have.
Some of the vehicles will be familiar as museum exhibits or as displays at big shows where private owners have examples of the vehicles covered in this work. Many of the vehicle types mentioned here have been used in combat, either by the Soviet Union in Afghanistan or one of its client states. From the earliest types developed during the last stages of WWII to the modern missile-carrying vehicles, all types are covered in this comprehensive volume. The text is detailed and explanatory while the illustrations, especially the cut-away diagrams, will be useful to modellers for reference. The Cold War was a very tense period of history, and seeing these vehicles it is easy to understand why the West was nervous of Soviet power.
