Tanks in the Battle of the Bulge

Tanks in the Battle of the Bulge

It is not often that a title on one of the most famous battles in the closing stages of WWII can be considered as being perfect for war gamers, but this is one of those times. Whether or not the author set out with the intention to present this book in such a way, but that is the way it comes across. The Battle of the Bulge is a well-known subject to WWII military history enthusiasts and this title focuses on the tanks, complete with tables of comparisons, availability charts and figures of losses. The text is sound and very solid in content, which students of armoured warfare will find interesting. The illustrations are very good and together with the artwork show the degree to which the Germans went to disguise their tanks. As a slice of specialist history looking at a battle this works well and could influence authors of further titles to follow a similar approach.
